The Practice was established in 1975 by Dr. Samia Rashed, professor of Private International Law and attorney admitted in front of the court of cassation in 1970. She was thereafter joined by Professor Ahmed El Kosheri and the name of the Practice became Kosheri, Rashed Law Firm. 

Subsequently Dr. Tarek Fouad Riad joined the Practice in 1985, after obtaining a Master degree and a Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School and joining the New York Bar, changing the name to Kosheri, Rashed & Riad Law Firm in 1987. Dr. Tarek F. Riad then became the Managing Partner of Kosheri, Rashed & Riad Law Firm in 1990.

Upon the passing of Professor Samia Rashed, Professor Ahmed El Kosheri and Dr. Wagdi Ragheb, the name of the Practice was changed to its current name Tarek Riad – Legal Consultants and Attorneys at Law.

The Practice started out as a Corporate firm, and then added Litigation and Arbitration, and thereafter the Practice became one of the top firms in Egypt and the Middle East in the field of Corporate Law and Arbitration.

Professor Samia Rashed was one of the top Arbitration specialists and jurists in the Middle East and has numerous publications in the field of Arbitration and represented numerous companies in Corporate and Litigation matters.

Professor Ahmed El Kosheri was also one of the top jurists and Arbitration practitioners in the Middle East, and he was granted the Life Achievement Award of GAR in 2014. Professor El Kosheri was the member of the ICC Court of Arbitration for more than 10 years, and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration until 2018.
